MATERIALS & MACHINING

Materials & Machining Options

Custom CNC shafts can be manufactured in different materials with turning, milling, threading, and finishing requirements based on customer drawings.

01 / MATERIALS

Material Options

Carbon & Alloy Steel: 1045, 4140
Stainless Steel: 304, 316
Aluminum: 6061, 7075
Other Materials: Brass and engineering plastics upon request.

02 / MACHINING

Machining Features

OD turning, facing, grooves, shoulders, external threads, drilling, boring, milled flats, and keyways where required.

03 / PRECISION

Tolerances & Fit

Critical diameters, shaft length, concentricity, runout, bearing fits, and surface roughness are reviewed according to drawings. Tolerances down to ±0.01 mm where applicable.

04 / FINISHING

Surface & Treatment

As-machined, deburring, polishing, black oxide, passivation, plating, and heat treatment options depending on material and project requirements.

Engineering Review Before Production

For precision shafts, please specify critical diameters, mating fits, concentricity or runout requirements, material grade, and any heat treatment or hardness requirements. Long or slender shafts may require additional evaluation for deflection, machining stability, and straightness.
